the good news, first:
+my poem ‘in theory’ was published by “voicemail poems” in their winter-spring 2023 issue! what i love about voicemail poems is you can HEAR the published poets reading their poem out loud, along with the poem itself in written form. check out my poem, and all the talented poets published, navigate here.
+i was recently notified that i received a partial fellowship from brooklyn poets! i’ll be taking part in marina weiss’ ‘trauma and recovery’ workshop. really exciting opportunity and a major honor, for sure. to view all the other finalists and fellows, click here.
..and then for the lists.
something i used to do a lot when i was a teenager was make lists. specifically when i was experiencing any kind of block, writing related or not. i think that any time you feel a sense of disillusionment, or crisis, it can be hard to feel motivated to do anything, let alone your passions.
so this newsletter entry is pretty simple. two lists. two prompts that i think are easy to carry into your day to day whenever you need it.
list #1 - the things you know to be true today.
1.) my nails have grown significantly over the course of a month.
2.) i get married in 8 months.
3.) days have a definitive beginning and end. everything between can either be thick and muddled or very clear.
4.) we always have a choice.
5.) sometimes it is better to let things go unsaid.
6.) the cats will always greet me at the back door when i get home.
list #2 - the things that are bringing you joy today.
1.) the blueberry lemon wax melt burning in my cubicle.
2.) yoga with my favorite teacher tonight.
3.) seeing my good friends for dinner on friday night.
4.) the new bloom on my fiddle leaf fig!
5.) new yoga pants.
6.) carmex.
7.) waking up next to my partner and the cats curled up in the same place.
8.) leftover indian food.
9.) zoe cain’s art on instagram. here’s her instagram, and one of my favorites: (zoe cain's instagram)

thank you for reading. <3 honestly, my writing recently has been pretty sparse since i’ve been going through some life changes and processing things. it means a lot that you’re still here.
love always,
